Summary: Great walking shoe, waterproof and can be worn in the office 2010-02-14
Comment: I walk to the train from home every day, and then walk to the office from the train, a total of about 3 miles round trip. I used to do this in sneakers and then change to dressier shoes in the office. Once I found these shoes however, I never looked back.
Likes:
- they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, as good as any sneaker.
- they are waterproof. I live in the outskirts of NYC, so we get rain and snow. I've accidentally stepped in deep puddles and come out perfectly dry. Of course there are limits - they aren't very high so if the puddle is deep enough water will get in them and then the waterproof aspect works against you - they don't drain.
- they can be worn in the office. Just dressy enough as long as you don't need to be impeccably dressed.
Dislike:
- Only one. The soles don't last very long, so they have to be replaced fairly often. On the plus side, the shoes aren't very expensive and can frequently be found on sale.

Summary: a comfortable shoe 2010-01-30
Comment: I have bought Rockport shoes in the past in a store but not on line. I used my size reference from my previous store bought shoes to order this shoe on line-the shoe fit just fine out of the box once delivered. The shoe design has been great for casual work usage; the shoe is comfortable for all day use and has held up just fine. I highly recommend this shoe for casual business use or to wear on the weekends.

Summary: Like walking on stone 2010-01-08
Comment: These are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever owned. I have worn Timberlands for years, and purchased these because they were on sale. I can't believe all of the good reviews that people are giving these shoes talking about how comfortable they are, there is practically "zero" padding in these shoes.

Summary: Almost perfect............ 2010-01-07
Comment: These shoes are really boots. They are good in the snow, rain, etc. They are very comfortable.
They would be perfect if they were my last pair of Rockports. The previous pair had softer leather, were waterproof-(Hydro-Shield), and claimed to be powered by XCS and DMX. The upper was black black leather, and they had a two-tone sole-(Black and tan). They were more like "walking shoes" than boots, but they passed for dress shoes at the office. They survived 4 years of daily and abusive use. The upper finally started separating from the sole. I gave them a funeral service.-(Never did that for any other shoe)
These new ones have a solid black sole. They also have a stiffer sole and upper. They are great shoes, and I hope they will last as long as the previous pair, however I would be very happy to re-purchase the old version.-(If I could find them).
