Summary: Great Boot and exactly what I have been looking for! 2010-01-23
Comment: I had been looking for a side zip, very understated (not too dressy and not a cowboy boot) with a square toe for months. Surprisingly it has not been easy to find especially when you throw in that I wear a 2E width and very few have a square toe. I was absolutely thrilled when they arrived. These boots looked great and has waterproof written on the inside which was a nice surprise. There was practically no break in time, very soft and flexibly out of the box and they have my favorite thing in any shoe... they are really light for a boot. I have worn them about five times now, perfect with jeans and they are very scuff resistant. You do need to know before purchasing that these are not 100% leather, only the upper is leather but the bottom is man made, this is what is probably helping them be so light and scuff resistant but time will tell how the synthetic part holds up. A little pricey considering my last point but they literally were exactly what I was looking for and I am considering buying a second pair for when these wear out.

Summary: Great for Sleet & Slush, Not for a Foot of Snow 2010-01-12
Comment: I got these for my boyfriend because after living in NYC for 15 years, he still didn't own a pair of winter boots. We were looking for an alternative to the big, bulky snow boot, because after all, one can't really wear those around the office. Will these ever replace the Cole Haan winter boots that I got him for really snowy days? No, but for trudging around in slush and sleet, they're great. He says they're really warm and waterproof, and they look just like a regular pair of black dress boots. His only complaint is that when he sits, his pant leg gets caught on the top of the boot, but I think removing the flap in the back might help with that.
