Summary: Nice fit on heel, horrid cushioning in forefoot 2010-07-08
Comment: The lacing system is cool, I will have that for all of my running shoes from now on.The heel is very comfortable and seems to hug your foot nicely. I run 100% on well groomed logging roads and I can feel EVERY rock or stick on the ground if my forefoot hits it. Pretty bad cushioning for a "trail" shoe. Looks great and the lacing system is cool but I would definitely not buy again.

Comment: First I recommend trying on some Salomons at your local R.E.I. or hiking store to find out what your shoe size actually is then buy the shoes you want online. I bought these shoes for regular mountain hikes that I will be taking this summer. On the hikes I've been on so far these shoes have been better then anything else I've tried. The other people I hike with that have been hiking every weekday for 4 years say Salomon are the only shoes that last a decent amount of time. I also have a pair of Salomon snow shoes that are the best I've ever had.

Comment: If you have tried the Salomon RAID RACE, yes the yellow ones from 8 years ago, you will know what I`m talking about, all attempt to make similar models from Salomons have failed, the best ones: XA PRO 3D, this XT WINGS not worth it...
