Summary: rain tested 2010-04-25
Comment: Rode on a motorcycle in light rain for 2 hours. My feet were the only things that got wet with water seeping in where the upper joins the rubber shoe. They are fine in slushy snow below the seam line, hence the 3 stars. Will try to seal but this is not what I paid for.

Comment: They look good, they look dry, they look warm.I put them away, still in the box. they are for winter 2010. I do think it's rather odd that winter boots shipped from a ski shop in florida to buffalo. shouldn't it be the other way around.

Comment: It's snowing outside and getting too deep for your sneakers, when you have to go shovel the driveway. What a joy to have these extremely warm,comfortable and waterproof winter boots to slog around in the elements! I've had several other types of boots and these are the best!

Comment: Had a chance to go home for a week (Upstate NY). Really don't need a cold weather boot in AL, so I got on Amazon and went shopping. I wanted something that looked nice but was warm. I really like the boot, looks great with jeans and I wore it to the airport. It was very easy to take off and put on. (You know the drill at the airport). Anyway...I love the boots they look really cool, there warm, and I guess they are waterproof, my feet stayed dry in the snow.

Comment: These boots are as warm as advertised! From Ft. Lauderdale, FL I went ice fishing at Devil's Lake, North Dakota where it was bitter cold (-17 degrees) my feet stayed perfectly warm all day. BUT, like most Sorels, they are flat so after a few hours they are not comfortable for standing and certainly not walking.
They are compact compared to felt lined Sorels which is very nice. So if you are going to be sitting in the cold all day you will be happy with these boots. If you plan to walk for more than thirty minutes, these are not the boots you will want to buy.
